Indigenous Ethnic Wedding Mandar

Mandar society mostly settled in the province of West Sulawesi and surrounding areas. In mandar's indigenous there are several phases in the wedding procession, split into 14 phases are as follows.
1.                  Massulajing  that process is to see matching between the two people are men and women who will be married. This phase is done by the parents of the man together next of kin.
2.                  Messisi’ or Mammanu’manu, . In this phase of the male's family essentially asking whether the woman  will agree if the man comes propose marriage. It is secret phase, It  aims to male's family do not feel embarrassed if this process fails.
3.                  Mettumae, sent messengers to propose marriage, and to verify the achieved in Phase mammanu’manu.
4.                  Mambottui Sorong, Sorong or dowry is something that has a value of absolute moral and material exist in a marriage, in Mandar “sorong” is a picture of self-esteem and dignity of women who are set according to the customary rules adopted by hadat that should not be contested.
5.                  Mambawa Paccanring,  paccandring  is Bringing joy  by the male because an agreement on the “mambottoi sorong” Dominant brought fruits of all kinds and as much as possible.
6.                  Ma’lolang, That is the process by which the male with him friends visit the women's home. This is an official statement of the engagement and the introduction of the first men to be mated to the whole family of the woman.
7.                  Mappa'dai Balaja, This means that the male escort grocery money agreed upon woman's side
8.                  Mappasau, means steam bath, to clean out that all foul odor that may exist on the bride.
9.                  Pallatiang, Implementation pelattigiang time there are 2 kinds: Along with the marriage ceremony and the day before the ceremony
10.              Takes the Pappadupa,  is visitation envoy to the house of the woman in the male brings "lomo masarri or fragrant oil" and clothing that will be used during the marriage ceremony
11.              Matanna Gau, is the culmination of all the events in the marriage ceremony.
12.              Nilipo, groom's family  visit the bride's home. This was done at least three times in a row every evening after evening prayers
13.              Mandoe Flowers, This means that a shower of flowers to make fragrant and rid self of the large impurity maybe there after the marriage ceremony

14.              Marola or Nipemaliangngi Marola means to follow or refer visitation to the bride's home. This activity is done just for fun, play music and others
